GETTING GOOD AT SOMETHING IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.
You can spend years getting better at things without ever asking what any of it is for. You learn something. Then something else. What once felt difficult becomes familiar. Your interests expand. Your experience accumulates. Eventually, you can do things that would have seemed difficult or impossible to an earlier version of you. That’s progress.…

EVERYONE CAN CREATE. SO WHAT?
Whenever someone used to ask me what I did, I had a list. Artist. Entrepreneur. Marketer. Writer. CEO. Educator. Worldbuilder. All of those answers were true. The problem was that the longer the list became, the less useful it was. Every time I learned how to do something new, I seemed to need another label…

WHAT IF YOUR EXPERIENCE IS MORE VALUABLE THAN YOU THINK?
For years, I thought I was keeping records. Project notes. Annual reviews. Research threads. Journals. Conversations worth remembering. Short briefs documenting decisions I’d made, problems I’d solved, things I’d tried, and what happened afterward. Most of it started for practical reasons. I wanted continuity. If I came back to a project six months later, I…

YOU WANT TO BE A CREATOR, BUT YOU’RE OVERTHINKING IT.
The first digital product I ever built was a mess. The landing page was overworked. The offer was too long. The copy was trying too hard. The backend held together mostly because I hadn’t asked it to do very much yet. I could see problems everywhere. But the thing had one quality none of my…

BUILD THE PERSON BEFORE THE MACHINE.
I was drawing long before I knew what Photoshop was. As a kid, I drew constantly. Action scenes. Characters. Little flip books where I tried to make figures move from one page to the next. I wasn’t thinking about animation or visual communication as disciplines. I just knew there were things I could see in…

THE WORLD CHANGED. SO WHAT CAN ONE PERSON DO NOW?
I spent the first part of my life thinking creativity was something you could hold in your hands. A pencil. A brush. A camera. A sheet of paper. A finished image hanging on a wall. That was the territory I understood. I went to art school and studied visual communication. I learned composition, perspective, typography,…

SOUNDS LIKE A CAREER DECISION, BUT IT ISN’T.
The question has been showing up in rooms that usually don’t entertain hypotheticals. Founders, operators, people with real revenue and real constraints keep circling back to the same line of thinking, almost as if they’re testing it before saying it out loud: should I become a creator? It’s not framed as curiosity. It lands more…

LEARNING AND BUILDING WERE NEVER A SEPARATE PROCESS.
There’s a conversation I’ve had more times than I can count with founders trying to enter the creator economy. It always reveals the same misunderstanding about how learning actually works. They want to build something. They’re willing to learn. They understand the opportunity in front of them, and you can hear it in how they…

SOMETHING CHANGED ABOUT WORK THIS YEAR.
The advantage is no longer access. It’s trained capability. Everyday, I watch a creator generate in ten minutes what used to require an entire production team. Research summarized instantly. Design mocked up in seconds. Distribution systems mapped before the coffee cooled. Not because the creator was extraordinary. Because the tools now are. And that’s when…

FOCUS IS YOUR PRIMARY ASSET. USE IT WISELY.
I protect my build time aggressively. There are blocks in my week that aren’t available for meetings, messages, or reaction. Notifications are off. Tabs are closed. The phone is out of reach. If something isn’t directly related to what I’m constructing, it doesn’t enter the room. This isn’t aesthetic minimalism. It’s structural protection. Build time…

YOU HAVE DISCIPLINE, BUT YOUR ATTENTION WAS HIJACKED.
Last year I wrote about the creator versus consumer divide. I shared that the real separation wasn’t talent or ambition but posture. Some people build. Others react. At the time, I thought the distinction was mostly psychological. What I didn’t fully understand then was that the dividing line isn’t ambition at all. It’s attention. Over…
