Today, I’m excited to share my latest video with you! It’s a live painting titled Earth Odyssey that I poured my heart and soul into. The story behind this project is truly special because it was created with the intention of generating awareness for environmental sustainability.
The painting is all about our carbon footprint and our relationship with Mother Earth. This project is really special to me because it was a completely unique challenge – we had no roadmap for how to create it!
Back in 2010, I was invited to become an Earth Champion by the WE CANada & One Earth Initiative and tasked with creating a live painting to generate awareness for environmental sustainability. We wanted to educate people through entertainment, but to do that, I knew we needed an original sound.
Thankfully, I was able to collaborate with the amazing violinist, Suzka (@suzkasound), and together we created an original soundtrack for this live painting. It was a daunting task to compose an entire visual story, synchronized with atmospheric violin music, all within a 20-minute time slot told through oil paint & violin.
Can you believe the amount of preparation that went into this project? I really hope you enjoy watching this video as much as we enjoyed creating it. It’s truly a labor of love, and I’d be thrilled to hear what emotions and feelings the violin sound effects paired with the brushwork evoke in you.
